Dell Servers
The
web hosting platform uses only Dell Servers and is designed
in such a way that if any server fails another server automatically
and without delay takes over that servers workload. For example
if one of the mail servers were to break down, another server
would automatically come online, with all the correct configuration
and take over the work of the failed server. In this period
no email would be lost.
As
well as this, all data is stored in two large network disk
arrays, data is automatically synchronised between the arrays
so that in the event of an array failing the remaining array
continues to serve data to the servers with no downtime.

Cisco Gigabit Network
The
network that we use operates on industry leading network equipment
from Cisco Systems, all switches and routers are developed
by Cisco. The network is based on gigabit technology which
means that it runs at a speed of 1000 Mb per second, most
web hosting networks are limited to 100 Mb per second.
The
network that we use also utilise's 100% CAT6 network cable,
CAT6 cable contains four pairs of copper wire and unlike CAT5,
utilise's all four pairs. CAT6 supports Gigabit (1000 Mbps)
Ethernet and supports communications at more than twice the
speed of CAT5e, the other popular standard for Gigabit Ethernet
cabling

stable operating system available in the market today.

systems that we have access to utilise the latest Redhat server
technology to allow the servers to be continually up to date
with Redhat system & security patches.
Redhat
Enterprise Linux is used by Domainscape Internet and this
is the most stable release of Redhat Linux available and the
only version that stays totally up to date with security patches.
Connectivity
We
operate a multi-homed network utilising BGP4 technology, simply
put we have multiple connections to the Internet with different
backbone providers, should any connection fail our other connections
automatically take all the traffic. Not only does this mean
that we are very unlikely to lose connectivity to the Internet
but it also means that traffic moving to and from our network
can choose from a range of paths to get to its final destination,
this means that we have been able to configure the network
to always take the fastest paths.
